The Latest Design in a Large Flame Burner. Similar in size to the major, the red max bottom surface mix burner has a round instead of square face, making the flame much more forceful. This burner was designed for boro its top premix torch provides an even hotter flame that is perfectly suited to working with the hard glass. Control the burners independently with two sets of valves. Includes two interchangeable tips for the premix torch and a cleaning tool. Use with either propane (2-6 psi) and oxygen (5 to 8 psi) or natural gas (.25 to 2 psi) and oxygen (5 to 8 psi).Use marver to warm millefi ori and shape glass. Play It Safe. Delphi suggests always using flashback arrestors like item 199023 with any surface mix torch. Sculptural forms below made by Delphi Guest Instructor Marc VandenBerg.

The perfect dual threat torch for people who want to work both soft and hard glass. The lower, major burner has a block in the middle that provides a large and focused flame that’s great for soft glass (Moretti) work. With 48 fuel ports, the flame size is wide, hot, and burns clean, also making it perfect for borosilicate work. The top, minor surface mix torch provides a secondary, lower temperature flame. Controlling the two burners is simple, two sets of valves operate each independently. Both are surface mix burners that can be used with either propane (2-6 psi) and oxygen (5 to 8 psi) or natural gas (.25 to 2 psi) and oxygen (5 to 8 psi). Always use a flashback arrestor (item 199023) for large torches of this type. Below is an image of the unique square face of the center block which makes this torch so versatile.

(The midrange has 25 fuel ports and a much larger burner face than the minor.) Two Lenses In One. The latest product in the Phillips Safety’s line of flameworking and glassblowing eyewear, the Microlite 8. This new split lens design offers eye protection and allows you to see variations in the flame, no matter if your working with soft glass or borosilicate glass. The top 1/3 portion is in a Phillips202 ACE lens (designed for working in cooler flames). The bottom 2/3 are in a Green Boroscopes ACE IR lens with a shade of 3.0. Boroscope lenses offers stronger protection against UV and IR rays in hotter flames. A 3 shade is dark enough for borosilicate work, but not as dark as some safety glasses. The new Microlite 8 frame offers comfort and protection in this unique wrap around style frame. Comes standard with leather case and retainer cord.
